I am the Resource Recovery Projects and Education Officer at the Townsville City Council (TCC). In this role I collaborate with the North Queensland community on resource recovery initiatives and education programs. With extensive experience in the field of food waste and organics, Amelia has contributed to State policy and programs aimed at diverting food waste from landfills across residential and commercial sectors. Amelia has worked along the entire cycle of food waste from diversion of edible food, and inedible food waste, through to end-markets for application of compost and soil amendment products. As a skilled communicator, Amelia has effectively engaged with residents and businesses to better understand the significance of transitioning behaviours towards those of a circular economy, and easily conveys the social, economic and environmental benefits associated with these initiatives.
