I work in the Climate Engagement and Governance Division of the Department of Transport. The Division's objectives are to develop, deliver, and monitor implementation of, policy on climate change mitigation in the transport sector in line with national Climate Action Plan targets to decarbonise the transport sector by 50% by the year 2030. My role is to implement a Public Engagement Strategy to support Ireland's national Climate Action Plan and Sustainable Mobility Policy objectives. The Strategy aims to develop climate awareness and literacy about the systemic changes in transport sector already taking place and encouraging behavioural change from private car use to sustainable travel modes.
