As a member of the Shelby Township Solid Waste and Recycling committe my purpose is to encourage Shelby Township residents to participate in the curbside recycling program and to properly redcycle acceptable items. Contamination is a big problem. Also to encourage participation in the Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day and the Electronics Recycling Collection Day. There is concern that many hazardous electronics items are going into the landfill because of lack of concern by residents about proper safe disposal which requires saving unwanted electronics for participation in the Electronics Recycling Collection day.
