Hello --
I'm looking for information about social marketing campaigns that have been developed and/or used as part of an overall invasive plant management strategy. Of particular interest would be campaigns targeted at urban residents, because the vectors of invasion in cities include the dumping of garden soils/compost materials in parks. However, campaigns targeted at rural land users would also be welcome. Thanks in advance for any tips!

We recently did a project for WWF Australia on the use of mandatory labelling schemes as a mechanism in it we address a range of social marketing issues. We are also working hard to develop a core suite of expertise in this arena and have some useful people on the law and economics side of things. Collaboration on such topics is a matter of serious interest for us because the suite of behavioural knowledge needed to cost-effectively deal with the issues is lacking. See Sustainability Strategy 2006, Federation Press for our perspectives on the integration of behavioural and market instruments and law, and our website for a download of this weeds study and other such material.
