Hi all,
Our company is looking to move towards zero waste in the production of documents. We are having trouble sourcing cost efficient yet professional ways of binding our documents (in particular holding the pages together) which utilise biodegradable or reusable/recyclable materials. We are looking to avoid the use of plastic and for new ways to present reports in a sustainable way. If you know of any sustainable document binding and presentation methods we would love to hear them.
Many thanks,
Belinda and Jo

Josephine, check out the MBDC website, run by William McDonough and Michael Braungart, two visionary leaders in the areas of product and process design. Their firm is dedicated to transforming the design of products, processes, and services worldwide; see http://www.mbdc.com/overview.htm This link explains more about the materials and beyond eco-industrial processes (really, it is an example of biomimicry) used for the book: http://www.mbdc.com/features/feature_may2002.htm
As an aside, I often wonder whether any of the international Green parties have considered sourcing their lawn signs with this material. Not only would it make a very public statement about the economics of the practical alternatives available, it would be a form of practicing what they preach in terms of organizational social responsibility. So if anyone is aware of the MBDC materials being used in this way, please let me/the list know.
Thanks!
