Request for Social Innovations

I teach on-line courses covering innovation and systems thinking for sustainability. We often talk about social innovations and memetics (the evolution and propagation of ideas). Interestingly, a recent class of freshmen felt the only solution to the tragedy of the commons was changes in thinking (as opposed to regulation). So, I am looking for your recommendations on social innovations, and the marketing or diffusion of such innovations. I will summarize all materials and post back to the list.
