Good morning everyone,

There are two things that I read about in the past 24 hours that I thought I would share with you. The climate change debate in Australia has been really quite slow but has in the past year really taken off, predominantly due to Al Gore's movie and a new group, the Climate Institute. Their latest publication, and one that is bound to have a massive impact in Australia, is "Common Belief: Australia's Faith Communities on Climate Change" http://www.climateinstitute.org.au/cia1/downloads/041206_common_belief.p df
I thought about one of the emails posted recently regarding the religious response to climate change and can definitely recommend this paper. It's a bit of read but represents all the main stream Australian faiths, and their approach to climate change. Bottom line, it's a moral issue that affects all of us. Considering the predominantly Christian political arena, I am keeping my fingers crossed that they will be named and shamed into regulating the market to make it less carbon intensive. Secondly, and maybe less CBSM related, is that a new political party has been launched in the UK to represent animal rights - I am really pleased that someone is trying to lend animals a voice in the political arena: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/politics/6204262.stm
