Greening the Workplace

Hi Alison,

I am unsure of the situation at Colorado Springs but here in Australia easy savings are made from energy efficient initiatives. For e.g. removing globes, turning lights off when not required, installing motion detectors and putting timers on appliances and equipment such as photocopiers and mini-boilers. We find that offices are often 2-3 times over the required light level so savings are easily achieved by reducing the amount of artificial light. That's only one small part of greening an office but one which may reap financial benefits most easily.
