The Province of Nova Scotia banned compostable organic material from disposal at a landfill November 30, 1998. Curbside collection of organics for residential and ICI has been taking place in various municipalities since then. Check out website www.rrfb.com or www.wastecheck.com or http://www.gov.ns.ca/enla/waste/ for more info and links. The programs are run by the Municipalities which there are 55 in Nova Scotia.
