Hello,
I am conducting research relating to chloride loading through road salt use in southern New Hampshire. Studies have drawn a correlation between increased use of NaCl for road deicing and increases in chloride levels in receiving ground and surface water bodies. Following the salt-loading research, I will be conducting a public outreach effort which will target homeowners, snow removal contractors, and possibly planning boards and conservation commissions. In addition to general road salt literature, I am looking for examples of campaigns to encourage reduced road salt use and for surveys used to gain insight about public attitudes and perceptions relating to the importance and effects of road salt.
Thanks,
Dari Sassan

Dari,
You should check out RiverSides, an ENGO basedd in Toronto, Canada, which has some of urban ecology programs which incorporate social marketing techniques. Their Low-Salt Diet program is relevant to your interests and can be found at: http://www.riversides.org/index.php?cat=3&page1=8
