Hi All,

Ive been reading an INSEAD Knowledge Newsletter article which analyses peoples predictions compared to their behaviours and it seems to be pointing in the direction of the following: If you ask people to predict how much they will do of a norm based behaviour (eg exercise, where there is a suggested standard like 3 x 20 minutes per week) and they are doing less than the norm, it will encourage them to do more. If they are doing more than the norm, it will encourage them to do less. If you ask people to predict un-normed behaviour, like going shopping, it will encourage them to do more. As we start to develop norms for behaviours to support global warming, it could be interesting. Downloaded from: http://knowledge.insead.edu/contents/chandon.htm

Cheers,
