Greetings from Laurence Budd
For those of you in the LA/San diego area- Are you seeing any movement by local cities to initiate active water conservation programs? The metro water district is trying to get things on a fast track, but we are not hearing much from the city level. Any info would be appreciated.

A couple of cities I'm aware of offhand that have had some buzz about their efforts are: San Antonio http://www.saws.org/conservation/ Tucson http://www.ci.tucson.az.us/water/conservation.htm
There is a PR firm which has developed a "social marketing in a box" kit called "Water Use It Wisely," that a number of municipalities have tried, and seem to have positive feelings about. I blogged about it twice:

Re: water conservation in the LA "moon base" area...
These are not in LA proper, but I know that Corona, Pasadena and Riverside have active water conservation programs and outreach/marketing.
