Does anyone have a protocol for doing counts of bicyclists and pedestrians on city streets using volunteers? It needs to be a low cost study! Also any protocols for doing a study of commuting by bike and foot?

Contact the City of Portland (Oregon) Bureau of Transportation's Bicycle Coordinator, Roger Geller. He conducts annual bike counts using a fleet of volunteers he recruits every summer.
