I'm thinking about trying to educate folks on this in our office (several thousand employees) with a tie-in to Halloween.. vampire loads... Any experiences with clearly describing this phenomenon & motivating people to take action, either by using power strips or unplugging devices when not in use?
Thanks, will compile & summarize responses

Hi Christina,
Here at Sustainability Victoria our Greenleaders Team provide the IT staff with text and graphics for a sustainability theme each month (it could be parasitic energy loads, waste reduction, water conservation, etc). This is then arranged by IT to appear on everyone's computer screen when they are starting their PCs and again when they are switching them off.
Regards
John
