Invercargill has had kerbside recycling for four years. Recently the contractor notified me that householders are getting lazy and are not recycling properly - for example cardboard boxes are being left unflattened on the kerbside and plastic bottles aren't being washed out properly. With Christmas fast approaching I'm wanting to run a 'behaviour change' programme to get Invercargill residents back on track and properly recycling. Has any one faced a similar problem? What was your solution?
Cheers

Our collector has very polite notes in nice colours printed on 100% recycled paper that he has left at the curb with our cardboard or bottles that say things like:
"Happy to collect this next week when the boxes are flattened and tied in a bundle."
"Sorry, I can't take these for you until they are washed out"
