I am doing some research on trade waste minimisation programmes. Does anyone undertake or know of any trade waste minimisation programmes currently in practice? Is this a priority issue for anyone? If you do have a programme in place how is it funded? And it is working to reduce trade waste?
Cheers

Hi All,
We have been a member of Waste Wise from Sustainability Victoria since 2002, our diversion rate has risen from 22% to a current 50% by weight. Last year it had peaked at 66% but due to the withdrawal of Mdf board through the C&D Recycling stream it had hit us hard, strategies are been sough to overcome this current problem. Sustainability Victoria I believe have got it right, the Waste Wise model should be assessed in depth in your area with refinenments. Please do not hesitate to be in contact, if you have any further enquiries regarding this matter.
Yours Sincerely,

Hi Donna,
Have a look at our web site and read about our Waste-wise program at: http://www.sustainability.vic.gov.au/www/html/1507-waste-wise.asp
The program covers much more than just trade waste but the same principles apply.
Cheers
John
