Hi all,
University Health Network in Toronto is an organization comprised of three large downtown teaching hospitals. We are in year two of a three year pilot to integrate energy management planning into core hospital culture. One of our key audiences is the facilities and building operator staff. We are using a three pronged approach to change - equipment, process and behavioural. We have learned a lot in year one and even had some good successes to report. I would be happy to share more details with those specifically interested

Wendy,
The Building Owners and Managers Association of BC (BOMA) developed a green buildings certification program several years ago that has had enormous success. The program entails ten elements of environmental responsibility that buildings must demonstrate compliance with. In addition they offer Building Operator training on energy awareness - their e-energy training program: www.boma.bc.ca

Check out the Buiding Owners and Managers Association ( BOMA ) Go Green Program. ( recently changed name to BESt) It is effective, cost effective and well established. There are BOMA chapters all across Canada the BC chapter web site is http://www.boma.bc.ca/gogreen.php

Are you using the Building Operator Certification program? Looks like it is mainly offered in the US. The training is provided by sponsoring organizations in each region. Here is the link to the national program in the US: http://www.theboc.info/ On that website you can find case studies, and links to these evaluation studies:
