Hello ALL,

I am currently working on a Sustainable Design bibliography of recommended readings primarily for college students in the visual art & design disciplines, (including urban design) that represents multiple world perspectives. I am always interested in what my colleagues are reading and what has been essential to the development of their thinking, as well as advice that they can offer to the next generation facing these issues. It is my hope to compile an intelligent list of readings that can provide students with a critical intellectual foundation on sustainability as it relates to the broader scope of life, ie. social, politcal, economic, ecological, that illustrates how/why sustainability cannot be separated from ethics, belief systems, all the other disciplines, the built environment, world issues such as globalization, human rights, neo-colonialism, capitalism and consumption and also places sustainable design within environmental and design history theory. Many thanx to anyone for sharing their thoughts! I will be happy to post the bibliograpy and the list of contributors, as soon as it is completed.

best.
