Tier II CRC in Environmental Psychology Wilfrid Laurier University, Waterloo ON

The Department of Psychology at Wilfrid Laurier University invites applications for a Tier II Canada Research Chair (CRC) in Environmental Psychology. In this position we are looking for a strong interdisciplinary scholar who can support the development of our environmental psychology research area. Laurier has recognized the pressing need to address the human dimensions of environmental problems and degradation and is positioning itself to become a leader in research, learning, and action in regard to pro-environmental individual and community-level change. Building on our strong existing connections with the community in our region, and with scholars from around the world the research chair will work across disciplines, collaborating with a multi-disciplinary group of researchers with complementary interests in order to establish Laurier as a hub for research in this field. The primary appointment (tenured) will be in the Psychology Department with a possible cross-appointment in an appropriate second academic unit. The CRC program was established by the Government of Canada to enable Canadian universities to achieve the highest levels of research excellence in the global, knowledge-based economy. In conjunction with the University, the candidate will be expected to complete the nomination form and CFI request prior to the CRC nomination deadline. The position is contingent on approval by the CRC Secretariat. The candidate will be expected to establish a strong, well-funded research program, to advise graduate students, and to teach (at a reduced load) within the department of Psychology.
