Tools of Change offers two energy conservation case study webinars in May

SMUDS Home Electricity Report Program (Wednesday May 11, 2011.) This well-evaluated program uses feedback, reminders, normative messaging, loss-aversion, goal setting and commitments to improve energy conservation and overcome the rebound effect. Presented by Bruce Ceniceros, Program Planner, SMUD on Wednesday May 11, 2011 from 12 noon to 1:00 pm Eastern Time. $50.

Energy Smackdown Uses Game Play to Involve Community Members (Wednesday May 18, 2011.) Now in its third season, the Energy Smackdown uses engaging game playing to involve community members in energy conservation, and television and webcasts to make visible the energy-saving efforts of teams of households. Presented by Donald Kelley, Brain Shift Foundation on Wednesday May 18, 2011 from 12 noon to 1:00 Eastern Time. $50.

Both of these programs were designated as Landmark (best practice) case studies by a Tools of Change Home / Building Energy selection panel in 2010. This peer selection process recognizes energy efficiency programs and social marketing approaches considered to be among the most successful in North America (based on impact, innovation, replicability and adaptability.
