I am a storyteller and futurist interested in how my disciplines might intersect with sustainable behaviors. In the world of foresight studies ( yes, there really is such a field) we often talk about the role of preferred futures in motivating change. In general these future scenarios are based on a group's aspirations for the future. When properly created they can provide a reflective basis for assessing various strategies. One of the best ways to help groups engage with these positive future scenarios is through story. Hence, my question. Does anyone know of works that paint a positive picture of a sustainable future? These could be ten years in the future or 50. Most of what I have seen from the sustainable community are stories of doom and disaster. While I understand that many people feel the urgency of the problems require this approach, I wonder if it really creates much positive change

I look forward to your insights
