I'm designing a program to reduce food waste going to landfill from apartment-dwellers. I'm particularly interested in research into barriers to composting in individual apartments and providing shared on-site composting facilities for buildings, and examples of apartment or building-based composting programs (including vermicomposting, bokashi, etc).
There seem to be a lot more curbside collection programs for food waste from apartments than on-site composting, and I'm interested in any studies/examples where both options were considered or piloted and curbside collection won out.

We are working on a program here ourselves, albeit not particularly with CBSM principles. I'm not in charge of the program but if you want to know more, check out www.greenactioncentre.ca and search for "On Site" - we're working to help buildings compost, well, on-site! The focus is a wooden 3-bin outdoor system shared amongst several units. There's no municipal organics option in our city. Curbside isn't so much an option that didn't "win out" as entirely not an option at all.
