Communications Manager - Social Marketing

This position will assist in managing and delivering a comprehensive communications program for the Local Hazardous Waste Management Program (LHWMP) in King County. The LHWMP is a regional, multi-agency program that works to protect and enhance public health and environmental quality in King County by helping citizens, businesses, and government reduce the threat posed by the production, use, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials. The Program comprises the City of Seattle, King County, and the Suburban Cities within King County. For more information visit LHWMP.org.

This is a professional position And work is performed independently and in close coordination with communications staff assigned to LHWMP partner agencies and the Program Director. The incumbent will be responsible for determining and recommending the appropriate level of involvement in numerous communication projects important to the Local Hazardous Waste Management Program.

We are looking for a leader, coordinator and facilitator, who can be a successful member of various groups, work teams, and partnerships/coalitions in order to help the program and its partners achieve desired outcomes. The successful candidate with have expertise in project management, development of strategic communication pieces and campaigns, writing, communicating technical information to a lay audience, and providing effective outreach and communications to non-English speaking populations and the ability to perform these duties based on previous experience.
