Position Title: Behavior Change Manger Social Psychologist
Location: 777 S Wadsworth Blvd, 4-205 Lakewood, Colorado 80216
Reports to: Sr Project Manager
Travel: 25-50% (local)

Overview: The primary function of this position is to design, implement, track and report on plans utilized to change peoples behavior regarding energy use. Most of the behavior change has to be done with non-financial incentives. The goal is to influence people to use less energy. This is for residents of affordable housing, multi-family properties, staff of non-profits and residents of small towns for ICASTs ResourceSmart initiative (www.resourcesmart.org).

The goal is to encourage behaviors that will result in energy and water savings (such as: turn off lights, wash full loads, use window coverings effectively, disconnect electronics when not in use) and improve indoor air quality (replace air filters, air out rooms). The effects of these behavior change measures (BCMs) on utility bills (reflecting energy and water use) are then monitored, analyzed, and compared to data before the education and utilized to provide feedback to increase the savings behavior. It is also reported to funders and other stakeholders.

The Position will design, develop and implement the BCM program through a variety of occupant engagement strategies including the Community Based Social Marketing approach and various technology tools.

The Position will coordinate efforts between the government staff, residents, building occupants and management, ICAST student interns and faculty
and/or consultants who help ICAST perform the work.

The position also includes work on grants and proposals for additional BCM work.

ICAST is a non-profit utilizing the triple bottom line approach (be socially responsible, environmentally friendly, and economically viable) for its projects (www.ICASTusa.org).
