Hi all, The Behavior, Energy, & Climate Change (BECC) conference is back this year with an array of interesting sessions and a fantastic keynote speaker.  Location: Sacramento, California  Dates: November 2 – 5, 2025 Cost: $945 (except for students). Note: This discounted registration is effective until September 30th, after which standard rates apply.  The keynote speaker for this year is Dr. Lisa Patel, Executive Director of the Medical Society Consortium on Climate and Health. She will explain how to use health-based messaging to catalyze climate action. In her talk, “Building Powerful Alliances for Climate Action through the Health Frame”, Dr. Patel leverages social media to communicate with parents and caregivers about the health harms of climate change. While the health impacts of climate change are not well understood, health professionals are often trusted to help engage in conversation around climate action to mitigate negative health impacts.

Here are some session examples:  ·      A behavioral taxonomy to inform residential program design·      Smart home systems and household energy behavior: A systematic literature review·      Impact of behavioral and lifestyle changes on household energy use·      Exposure to others’ thoughts and actions enhances climate-related social norms ·      Creative communications to build public support for battery storage·      How sustainable leadership strengthens energy efficiency and drives behavior change·      Social science insights to accelerate heat pump adoption·      Identifying strategies for increasing program participation through incentives·      Power shift: Tribally led renewable energy·      What are the sociocultural and psychological drivers and barriers of EV adoption? For more information and/or to register, click here
