I am looking for research that has identified the perceived barriers and benefits to householders properly disposing of household hazardous waste. I am also looking for information on programs that have successfully encouraged householders to properly dispose of household hazardous waste. Thanks in advance for any assistance that list members can provide with this.
Best,
Doug

Hi Doug:
Our organization has had a household hazardous waste facility for 11 years. It has been very successful. It is open to all residents within Summit County in Ohio. We are open only two days per week, limited hours, from April through September. Please go to our website www.saswma.org for more info. Our recycling coordinator will be happy to talk with you. Should she e- mail you directly at personal e-mail. We recycle used motor oil, paints, solvents, pesticides, etc., plus old tires, TV's, and computers. Just let me know.
