I seeking information about communication and community engagement/consultation projects relating to large-scale river restoration programs. The Living Murray (www.thelivingmurray.mdbc.gov.au) is about returning environmental water to Australia's Murray River. I'd be interested in learning of similar programs throughout the world, and components relating to awareness and behavioural change.
Thanks,
Sandra

Hi Sandra
I have been working on the Watershed Torbay restoration projects as communications coordinator through an non government organisation Green Skills Inc for the past 6 years. While it is a very small project compared to the Murray we have been using community based social marketing approaches. We recently won the National Thiess Riverprize for the partnerships, communication and community engagement. All reports on the project are on a website under Watershed Torbay including a paper summarising Successes and Learnings also a Focus Groups report. Soon will also post a marketing strategy. www.torbay.scric.org
