Hello all,
I am working in a team to develop a community engagement initiative to engage citizens to reduce their personal carbon emissions. I am considering the Empowerment Institute's Low Carbon Diet (www.empowermentinstitute.net/lcd/index.html) however I would like to speak with someone who has had success and/or challenges with it. A recent report from Ipsos-Reid stated that Canadian citizens with the highest income and most education tended to be the most resistant to change, and I believe that is the type of community we are working with. Does anyone know of a group that has or is using the Low Carbon Diet?
Thank you in advance.

This might be helpful. Arlington County, Virginia has rolled out the Car-Free Diet with a slogan of 'Loose 2,000 lbs in a day' (by leaving your car at home). This has been very successful in reaching the community and the website helps you calculate carbon reductions, calories burned, financial savings, etc. http://www.carfreediet.com/
This past Tuesday there was a kick off Car-Free Diet Expo for the campaign. Info here: http://commuter.typepad.com/commuterpageblog/2008/01/car-free-diet-e.html
