Hi folks,
Once again, I am teaching an Honors course here at Iowa State University. This time it is on sustainable foods and food systems. I am looking to collect resources (books, videos, newsprint, youtube videos, websites, etc) on the following topics: *Sustainable food definitions *Food miles *Past food systems vs. now (family farm to supermarket) *Community supported ag groups, public gardens, etc. *Health & diet, rural development, wealth problems & issues related to current food systems *Particular businesses/groups that you think I should know about
Anything else would be most helpful!!

The Sydney Food Fairness Alliance has developed a range of factsheets (one on food miles and links to Australian research on food miles) and has some audio interviews online at: http://www.sydneyfoodfairness.org.au/
The Australian City Farms and Community Gardens Network also has some interesting information: http://www.communitygarden.org.au/
Also Australian Community Foods has a listing of seed savers groups, csa etc around Australia: http://www.communityfoods.org.au/
In terms of business solutions Judy Wicks from Philadelphia's Black Dog cafe has just been doing a speakers tour and was very inspiring on the solutions she has been involved in related to sustainable food systems and building social capital through business solutions: http://www.judywicks.com/writing.html http://www.whitedog.com/action.html ...
