Hi All.
I'm on a quest for the magic list of social marketing's behavioural change techniques. Across different fields, there are different lists of behavioural change techniques, persuasive tactics, influence approaches, etc.. and within this zoo of different taxonomies and classifications, many of the techniques popular in the social marketing literature frequently appear throughout these systems. The closest I've found to a "social marketing" taxonomy is the classic tools for change approach (http://www.toolsofchange.com/English/FirstSplit.asp), and within the field of behavioural medicine, this great paper is a nice attempt to extract the core, empirically validated, behavioural change techniques ( http://www.psychol.ucl.ac.uk/susan.michie/references/Techniques%20Taxonomy%20(in%20press).pdf).
However, many of social marketing's techniques seem missing. I'm wondering if anyone knows of anything such as a systematic review of social marketing's behavioural change techniques? Or alternatively, if you have any suggestions for the core books and papers that would compose such a magic list, I'd be keen to hear about them.
Thanks.
Brian

There is promising but little used list serve where you might post your inquiry. The Best Practices Forum
To learn more about the Best_Practices_Forum group, please visit http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Best_Practices_Forum
You can join the list and post your inquiry there. You might also search the files of the Cochran Collaborative which documents evidence based findings on a host of medical/public health best practices. They might well have a report on social marketing, or behavior change technologies from that perspective.
