We are in the process of planning our earth week activities for our staff. One idea that our committee came up with is to provide a webinar on a particular environmental subject (e.g. renewable energy or energy conservation, etc) for each day during the week. I am in the process of compiling a list of short environmental webinars/websites (10-15 minutes in length) that are available for educational/professional development purposes. Any input or ideas would be much appreciated.
Thanks

Hello Kevin,
For video material, you may want to check out my website http://www.livinglightly.ca and the approach we are taking with the Living Lightly Project to focus on uplifting and inspiring stories. You can view the trailer for my first film Be the Change and for the one we are working on Powerful - Energizing People, Communities and Democracy. Also there is a wide selection of videos produced both by our own team and by outside contributors, looking at a range of real-world people and what they are doing to live lightly. We welcome inquiries, feedback and contributions.

Hi
I have been thinking for a while to do a series on our intranet for staff on 'Environmental Heros'. It suprises me that many of the well educated staff in sustainability don't know some of the founding leaders in the environmentalism movement, eg Rachel Carson. I think something like an Earth Week could be a good time to do this.
As a separate idea, one of the initiatives we have in place is a worm farm for the food waste generated by the Council staff and staff cafe. We also purchase small worm farms from a local recycled plastics manufacturer that staff can purchase at cost and get free worms from the worm farm. Every so often there is a competition - like the home garden competition for staff and they can win a worm farm as a prize. You could do a webinar on different fors of composting and arrange discounts at local stores or get the compost units in yourself for staff to purchase at cost.

HI Kevin
greatings from sunny and hot Cape Town. Please receive some of the green tips and links that an Environmental Consultancy (Jeffares & Green) forwarded to their clients on World Environment Week last year. I hope you find this useful

Hi Kevin, In my opinion, one of the best site for videos for use as an earth week activity on the pressing enviornmental issues of the day are those produced by the National Geographic at http://video.nationalgeographic.com/video/player/environment/global-warming-environment/global-warming-101.html?fs=science-panther.nationalgeographic.com
The European Enviornmental Agency also has some wonderfully produced videos that also address many of the same issues from their perspective: http://www.eea.europa.eu/multimedia/all-videos

Hi Kevin,
When I saw "Community and Health Services," I thought of this website, which is mainly for those in the health care field, but there's a lot for everyone. A walk through this website would be like a professional development session on the urgency of global climate change:
