Hi there
I am currently looking for online emissions calculators, travel cost calculators, travel time calculators, health & energy calculators - for individuals, households, workplaces, schools, or children. Has anyone come across any of the above that they have found particularly useful?

Hi Melanie,
No surprises there are a lot of emissions calculators. Kirsty is correct use an Australian emissions calculator. The Australian Government conversion factors are found in the workbook at http://www.climatechange.gov.au/workbook/.
It depends exactly what your needs are but I would recommend 3 good emissions calculators. Greenfleet, Future Climate Australia, and Climate Positive have good calculators. Although they may not all have the updated emissions factors from the workbook (as its been recently updated) they are all pretty robust and explain the methodology. I cant say Ive come across any of the other calculators you mentioned.
Would be interested to hear how you go. Im sure there are some calculators that measure comprehensive transport savings.
All the best.

Hi Melanie,
DEFRA and DECC in the UK have published greenhouse gas (GHG) conversion factors for company reporting that allows users to convert energy use into GHG emissions. It is not, however, recommended for overseas users, as the emission factors are specific to the UK. You could perhaps use it as a template or guide for developing your own. The Australian Government may even have an equivalent.
You can download the spreadsheet and methodology here http://www.defra.gov.uk/environment/business/reporting/conversion-factors.htm
I also like www.walkit.com as a travel time calculator it gives you a route map between any two points, including your journey time, calorie burn, step count and carbon saving.
Transport for Londons journey planner also makes it easy to connect the myriad of transport options in London www.tfl.gov.uk
Hope this helps,
Kirsty
