Hello,
I'm currently working on a CD/DVD recycling project in Australia and would like to find out any international/national current practices/information/barriers as to why it hasn't been identified as a resource worth recycling or having services available to the public.
I have been able to find some collection service providers in US, UK, and Australia. But I am still interested to understand why the billions of discs manufactured each year, millions are still ending up in landfill.
I would be particularly interested in knowing more about the Australian waste industry and current facilities, but international examples would be helpful also. Thank you.

Hi Stuart,
Sorry I wasn't quite clear. The project will mainly focus on recycling the discs to be broken down to its raw materials.

Hi Ying,
What sort of CD/DVD recycling program do you have in mind? Do you mean making unwanted CDs/DVDs available to others that might want to listen to/watch them, or are you wanting to physically the discs down to their raw materials?
