I am trying to stir up some academic interest on our campus for research into permaculture suitable for the Saskatchewan climate. Before I begin discussing the topic with researchers here I'd like to go prepared with examples of research being done at other universities.
Is anyone aware of university-led permaculture projects, past or present?
Thanks for your help!

Thanks for your help Daniel. I have left a message for Rob Hopkins and through searching for a way to contact him I made a connection with someone else who will help.

Slippery Rock University in Western Pennsylvania used to have a sustainability program that was based on many permaculture principles. That project may still be going.
Also, Institute for Bioregional Studies (www.ibs.ca) has hosted permaculture courses for which university students were able to receive credit.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. It would appear a number of post-secondary course programs exist but I have yet to find an academic undertaking research directly related to permaculture. I'm waiting to hear back from a couple of people so I may yet find someone.

check out Rob Hopkins was teaching at Kinsale Further Education College (ireland) a few years back. He has moved on to guide Transition Town Totnes in England, but I'm sure there is a curriculum or something you could get.
