Hi there.
One of my colleagues is looking for a behaviour change consultant to assist with the design of a campaign that aims to educate cyclists on safe and responsible shared path behaviour. He's based in Sydney so an Australian-based consultant would seem most appropriate (although I'm sure he'd be interested in chatting to anyone who has worked on these sorts of programs elsewhere).
Is there anyone who can help him out with this?
Thanks.

Whilst not direct contacts, the following organisations may be helpful:
Amy Gillet Foundation: Which has recently launched a number of campaigns to reduce accidents between cyclists and motorists, and has launched a range of campaigns to improve cycling relations between riders and other road users. They may also be useful in terms of who they used.
Melbourne Bicycle Patrol, Victoria Police. The Bicycle Patrol are a small unit, of officers which patrol an inner city aread in Melbourne on bike. Whilst they participate in general policing matters, they have a strong role in education and behavioural change of all road users (and paths), where cycling issues/conflicts occur. We have had them run sessions, which have been fantastic and they play a strong role in Road Safety Month. They may aklso be a good resource, or may be able to provide the best counterparts in NSW.
Vic Roads in Victoria has a bicyle education program/information. A similar program may exist in NSW.

I am trying to find out if anyone has come across a Cycle Behaviour Change Strategy for a town or city before?

Hi Bruce,
One way for your colleague to start his search would be by talking with the folks at Oregon's Bicycle Transportation Alliance, based in Portland, phone 503-226-0676. They've trained I believe thousands of people on safe cycling. I find both Michelle Poyourow and Stephanie Noll there quite helpful.
best of luck!
