We are trying to identify potential projects that may be assisted by satellite imagery of our local area. These images can be images down to 0.6m accuracy daily. I am trying to find examples of projects which have used satelite or aerial images successfully.
Kind regards,

Karyn,
We have not done this yet, but are talking about it - looking at storm water flooding patterns to find places where bioswales, rain gardens and green roofs could be installed to lower instances of such flooding.

Hi Karyn,
I coordinate a private land stewardship program in the Muskoka region of Canada (www.muskokastewardship.blogspot.com). I use the satelite imagery from our District to map properties before we visit them so that we know what natural features exist there and how we can encourage good stewardship on their land and waterfront. The imagery we use is taken in 2007, is leaf-off, and is very clear. There are no clouds in the way of the images and with the leaves off we can tell what type of forest is there (consiferous or deciduous) and thus what the soil is probably like there. We can also see different land features like rock outcroppings, streams, rivers, and topography. Landowners also really love this mapping and they can see their property clearly and see it as a system within the larger. You can see this mapping system by going to http://muskoka.on.ca/siteengine/activepage.asp?PageID=138 and clicking on "Muskoka Web Maps".
Hope this helps!
