I`m researching about recycling contamination in multi dwelling homes. I`m looking for reasons this is more of a problem in apartment buildings than single homes. Moreover, some solutions that were used anywhere in the world to decrease contamination in the last 5 years.
Can anyone suggest some peer reviewed sources I can use or some academics I can contact who would be able to help me?
Thank you

The presentation on multi-family dwellings was given by Leigh Peters
on our June 17, 2010 webinar. You can go to our website: http://www.epa.gov/osw/rcc/web-academy/ and then look in archives 2009-2010
and scroll down until you see the June 17, 2010 webinar. The presentations
as well as video/transcripts of the actual webinar are available.

Here's the link to the EPA webinar on Multi-Unit Residential Recycling Programs held on June 17, 2010 http://www.epa.gov/osw/rcc/web-academy/2010/jun10.htm The New York and Chicago presentations were particularly interesting.
The EPA also held a webinar in May, 2010 on Social Marketing - Building a Toolkit to Motivate Environmental Action that focused on Recycling in particular. That link is http://www.epa.gov/osw/rcc/web-academy/2010/may10.htm Definitely check out the State of Georgia's You Gotta Be Kidding campaign.
Enjoy!

Here is the link to a transcript of the webinar that I think Aleah is referring to: http://www.epa.gov/osw/rcc/web-academy/2010/videos/jun/jun10_trans.htm
And this page contains links to the presentations given by the speakers at the webinar: http://www.epa.gov/osw/rcc/web-academy/2010/jun10.htm
If you open the transcript in one window and the presentations in another, you can follow along between narrative and slides pretty easily. The presentations from New York and Chicago are particularly informative for multifamily recycling outreach.

Olga,
I'm not sure about peer reviewed sources, but the US EPA hosted a webinar last summer in June or July, that focused on multi family recycling program best practices. I remember that one of the presentations, I think from Chicago, was super helpful. Let me know if you can't find it and I'll try to dig around.
