Hello, my name is Duncan Gilchrist and I work for the City of Lakewood, CO Sustainability Divison.
We are currently doing preliminary research on recycling education campaigns that have succeeded in improving residential recycling rates.
Can anyone direct me to some relevant and recent campaigns of this sort? I've found several relevant waste reduction case studies in the 'Cases' section of this website, but they all seem to be decades old.
Thank you in advance to the sustainable behavior change community!

Duncan,
Our firm just completed Year 1 of our work with the Western Placer Waste Management Authority in Roseville, CA. Our work was focused on public education of their One Big Bin program (where folks toss all their garbage and recyclables into one bin, and the Authority sorts it for them). However, we found that about 40% of their residents didn't even think the county provided recycling services at all. It's been interesting work and we've been successful for them. Here is a link to our project write-up from our website. I'm happy to answer any questions for you and provide further information if you need it. https://3foldcomm.com/portfolio-item/wpwma-one-big-bin/

There are also a number of older recycling case studies on Tools of Change that are still good models.
