Hello all! I wanted to follow up on my food waste post with an article about changes being observed during COVID, below, and see if anyone is working on either research to better understand these changes or programs to help keep them in place.

Thanks for the Washington Post article. I was just looking at the USDA's website in which they explain the U.S. Food Loss and Waste 2030 Champion Program, whereby businesses and organizations make a public commitment to reduce food loss and waste in their operations. This is even more relevant during COVID-19. There is also a useful chart that shows a Food Recovery Hierarchy (Source reduction, Feed hungry people, Feed animals, Industrial uses, etc.). If I find any open access academic articles on food waste during COVID-19, I will let you know.
