SafeFood, a government-funded organization based in Ireland, promotes food safety and provides nutritional advice. They aim to do this primarily through influencing policy and promoting behaviour change. SafeFood is offering a full-time contract position for a Research Assistant in the Applied Systems Thinking Unit within the Whitaker Institute at the National University of Ireland, Galway.
The position is funded by Safefood and is available from June 2021 to May 2024.
Combining research and knowledge from business, marketing, public policy and the social sciences, the successful candidate will research pressing societal problems and grand challenges like obesity, antibiotic resistance, climate change and sustainability.
Candidates must hold a Masters in Marketing or Business Studies and be able to clearly demonstrate that they have studied social marketing in either the Masters or Degree qualification. Practical experience with social marketing and/or public health intervention campaigns is desirable.
