Smart Trips Austin encourages residents to take multi-modal transportation options more often through personal interactions that educate and overcoming barriers. Smart Trips reinforces this new information using community-based programs such as learn-to-ride classes, transit instruction, and group walking activities. This case study illustrates the value of targeting people who have recently moved (or have otherwise changed their routines) and of segmenting using a Stages of Change approach.
