Hello! I am interested in learning more about successful food recovery and donation programs in vacation communities, particularly in mountain towns. While I have found substantial literature concerning food recovery, I would like to learn more about how to encourage food recovery in the unique environment of mountain town vacation communities. If anyone has any resources, I would love to hear about them. Thank you!

Also the Whistler Community Services Society operates the local food bank and partners with pour local grocery stores and others on food recovery. A ban on food waste going to landfill/disposal is also helpful.

I did a bit of digging and found that the mountain resort town of Whistler, British Columbia is doing some interesting work around food waste and recovery. They have a 'Sea to Sky Food Recovery Plan' that identifies actions to reduce food waste. The report includes other regions besides Whistler, though, so you might consider speaking directly to someone from the Whistler Centre for Sustainability to find more details about their work in the mountain resort town specifically. The link to the report is on their website's landing page, as is their email address.
I hope this helps.
