Hi all,  There is an exciting, new, and innovative campaign called Sounds Right in which nature sounds are incorporated into the music tracks of famous musicians such as Brian Eno, David Bowie, and Anuv Jain. When they add nature sounds into their songs, some of the royalties go to a brand, NATURE, for wildlife conservation.  Launched by the United Nations and Rare earlier this year, the Sounds Right organizers developed a profile for “NATURE” as an artist on Spotify. All of the donations from fans go to rights-based wildlife conservation and restoration projects in key biodiverse regions around the world. By providing nature the same royalties as a human artist would receive, they are helping people to see its rights and inherent value.  The main behavioural aim in this initiative is for Spotify listeners to donate toward conservation initiatives. Well-known musicians along with the UN and Spotify model the desired behaviour by donating themselves. Further, they add positive social influence with over 28, 000 Likes on Spotify. This is an idea that might help you think outside the box when developing new conservation campaigns.  Below is a screenshot that shows some examples. If you’d like to listen to the songs themselves, please click here.
