Our city will be transitioning from manual collection of organics, recycling, and garbage from bins to cart-based automated collection.
This will involve distribution of carts and a significant communications plan to help educate residents on how to use the carts properly.
I am wondering if anyone has utilized CBSM in their initial program roll-out. I see this as an opportunity to start off on the right foot and want to be sure we use this to our advantage to incorporate CBSM.
Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

This is an exciting step for your city! Do you have any specific questions about how to apply CBSM to a program like this? That will help me to find the right answer for you. If you're looking for more general guidance on using CBSM, you might consider purchasing the new edition of Dr. Doug McKenzie-Mohr and Jennifer Tabanico's book, Fostering Sustainable Behavior. It gives a very good introduction to using CBSM in environmental programs (including waste reduction). You can purchase it here.
