I am wondering if anyone has suggestions regarding companies that provide event planning services in the US? I am planning on offering community-based social marketing workshops in San Francisco, Portland (Oregon), Washington D.C., and perhaps New York this spring. I am looking for a company that can handle online registration and handle disbursements for AV, food, and hotel costs. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance and have a good weekend.
Best,
Doug

Intrinsic Management Toronto Amanda George 416 593 0094 Ext 231 They have managed projects all over the world, big and little. Know they used to manage BAAM (sp?) network before BAAM was taken over. They have managed local area events for Saturn, etc. They helped us with some tips for the Film Festival for the Annual Conservation Video Contest.
Hope this helps

I can vouch for GEMS registrations service, they are phenomenal! I worked with them on UN's The International Children's Conference on the Environment Canada 2002 and The Leading Edge- National Stewardship and Conservation Conference 2003. The quality of the service is excellent and they can tailor what they offer to you according to budget and other specs. They can come onsite and do your registration for you if you can afford to get them to where your event is (they are located in Nanaimo BC Canada) or they can provide the web based form for registrants and leave the onsite to you, while providing you with the database. They were also very ammenable to our Green Conference Guidelines. This is their website: http://www.gemsregistration.com They may be able to suggest others to cover the other areas. Probably best to get locals to do some of it IE food etc. Also, on the list use protocols, as evidenced by Dougs response to Bob, it's very easy for us to forget how replying to messages gets sent to the whole list including the original messages. Happens to the best of us Doug! ;)

I highly recommend Pacific Agenda in Portland, Oregon, which has been managing the Association of Oregon Recyclers annual conference (and many other local, regional and national conferences and meetings) for many years, always efficiently and with grace under pressure and at a reasonable price.

There is an Association of Professional Organizers which I think (not sure) is an international organization. If you Google that name you might come up with some names.
Good luck
