Hiya all you agents for change,
Just wondering if any one knew of any good online resources to assist in measuring and monitoring behaviour change outcomes in line with quantifiable objectives ie how can I show that behaviour change initiatives have contributed to an x% decrease in workplace energy consumption? I'm thinking down the survey track, but am unconvinced of their credibility, especially with a small sample size. Can anyone recommend a school of thought or tool that guides me in putting together a survey that will yield significant and credible results?

As part of the EcoTeams programme in the UK (also run elsewhere in the world) we ask schools, householders & businesses to measure the amount of rubbish, electricity, gas & water they use over a set period of time before & after intervention. This gives us baseline data to compare the post-intervention data against. Calculations can be made to show how much CO2 has been reduced by saving energy (& of course how much money has been saved), waste reductions & recycling increases are weighed in kilos. Simple, but it shows the effectiveness (or non-effectiveness!) pretty clearly!
