I am looking to a climate change model that relates to archaeology and I hoping to produce GIS layer/demonstration to show the water encroaching on Parks's archaeological sites. Can you help me?

Hi Billie
Climate change modelling using GIS is quite a complex process and requires recognition of many factors including the following:
* sea level/climate change scenarios (best and worst case);
* the impacts of sea level rises on coastal accretion rates;
* topography; and
* land use...to mention but a few!
People have spent months building similar flood models in the UK. It is however possible to run a simple query, based on a calculation of worst case sea level/river level rises in your Region combined with accurate topography mapping. This could then be overlain over your archaeological sites. This needs someone with relatively good understanding of GIS and some good climatic projections. I hope this helps.

I believe Anthony Leiserowitz (now at Yale) and a colleague have done something like this for culturally important sites in Alaska. Don't know specifics, but may search for Tony at the Forestry School and find out!
