Hello,
I'm completing a Masters of Environment in The University of Melbourne and am currently researching for an essay on the topic "Communicating and educating sustainability". I was wondering if anyone could give me good tips on reports, articles, webresources, books, that could be focusing on the marketing and educational (adults) aspect of sustainability, especially concerning consumption in western societies, from a policy view. Any help would be most welcome!

Seems this is a very GREEN version of sustainability...is it just me, or isn't sustainability supposed to be about the intersection of 3 E's? Or even more likely,a part of a series of 3 co-centric and nested circles representing the interdependence of the 3 e's If Sustainability is just about environment, then it really represents very little that is new....it seems we are losing traction on this rather fundamental point......

Sustainability really is at the intersection of the 3 e's Social Equality, Economics and Environment. It is that intersection where our activities are not harming the Earth. Think of it as the Rheingold logo of three circles somewhat superimposed leaving some of the circles outside - the intersection where all of the circles are together is where sustainability is - true sustainability would require that the circles are superimposed so that none of the circles are outside - it would look like one circle! All of our activities should be done so that they do not harm the Earth - the Earth is the source of everything - resources, beauty, social interaction, knowledge. It is as Seattle says, "Whatever we do to the Earth - we do to ourselves!"
