Hi
Does anyone know of any examples of workplace challenges or competitions which have been used to encourage behavior change? I'm looking for examples of programs which pitch businesses against businesses to see which can get the most employees taking on a new sustainable behaviour. Any examples would be appreciated, particularly ones which focus on promoting sustainable transport such as biking, walking, transit, and carpooling. We run a successful 'biking business challenge' program in New Zealand called the "Bike Wise Business Battle" (see http://www.getmorepeoplebiking.com for more info) and we would like to find out how similar challenges/programs are run.
Thanks

There is an annual competition to see how workplaces can change employee travel behaviour over the course of a week - encouraging transit, biking, walking etc. It's called "Clean Air Commute" and is run by Pollution Probe, a Toronto based NGO. Here is a link to last year's Clean Air Commute. http://www.pollutionprobe.org/2006/index.html
