Dear listerv members
I am currently working within sustainable transport promotion so it would be an ideal opportunity to undertake some research. I have been unsuccessful with finding any previous research within this topic. This has only consisted of a paper by Hovell (year not given): "Applying the marketing concept to public transport planning" from the British Journal of Marketing. If you know of/have access to any relevant research within this area (transport strategies/planning and marketing), I would be delighted to hear from you!

Sianne,
I have written a short training document on the subject, called "Public Awareness and Behavior change for sustainable urban transport" . You can download it for free from www.sutp.org (free registration required).
There is also a recent paper on the topic from TCRP, called Understanding How Individuals Make Travel and Location Decisions: Implications for Public Transportation. I misplaced the link but I'm sure you'll find it under www.trb.gov ..
If you need any further help, I can give a hand. I also have some other material, not directly related but relevant to a certain extent... It would also be great to hear from your results!
Best regards,
